Feature and Follow (12) TGIF (2)

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week!

Feature and Follow is a fantastic way to make new blogger friends and gain followers. It is hosted by Allison Can Read and Parajunkee

The question of the week:
This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother's Day, in celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?

My Answer:
I have always had a close relationship with my mom because we love the same things. We both enjoy short ribs, broadway plays and reading.

I really liked the mother-daughter relationship between Cammie Morgan and Rachel Morgan from the Gallagher Girls series. They do not tell each other everything - after all they are spies - but I enjoy reading about their interacations. They both deeply care about each other and that is what matters in the end.

I also completely love Gabi and Lia's mother from the River in Time series by Lisa Tawn Bergren! She is a great addition in Cascade and Torrent as another warrior women. She is a strong and wise mother that helped Gabi and Lia face their enemies.

TGIF Is a delightful weekly meme hosted by Ginger at Greads!

Supporting Characters: We tend to gush over those main characters the most, but what about those supporting roles? Who are some of your favorites?

I absolutely love supporting characters! They are often my favorites! The incredible Ivy series by Lauren Kunze and Rina Onur has the best supporting characters! Mimi, OK, Lexi and Vannesa are great in their own ways and bring humor to the story!

Other favorite supporting characters of mine include: Vic from the Evernight series by Claudia Gray, Lord Greco from the River of Time series by Lisa Tawn Bergen and Finnick from the Hunger Games series!

Thanks for reading!

  10. Great answers, Rach! I think it's hard to find good mother-child relationships in YA so when you do find one, it's so nice to read about!

  17. Oh my gosh, you're a Gallagher Girl too? *high fives* I've been one ever since I was in the fourth grade and I'm so happy you are as well! :) I loved the way Cammie and Rachel interacted as a mother-daughter team (and how they both loved M&Ms!), and you can always see how Rachel tries to put Cammie first. And I REALLY need to read the Ivy series since it has a girl named Mimi in it! x)

Love your answer, Rachel! :) I hope you have a fantastic Friday! <3

  18. I have Waterfall on my Kindle, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I love well-written parent/child relationships in books...so rare! For TGIF, I haven't heard of the Ivy series so I'll check it out. Yay Finnick!!
