Losing Francesca by J.A. Huss
Publication Date: July 1st, 2013
Rating: 3.5/5 STARS
Synopsis:
Francesca Sabatini came to America to take in the sights, celebrate her high school graduation, and have fun wasting time before college starts in the fall.
That’s not what happens.
Fresh off the plane and barely on American soil more than a handful of minutes, Francesca’s face is recognized by TSA scanners to be a match for a child who was kidnapped twelve years ago.
Brody Mason remembers the day Fiona Sullivan went missing during a family vacation in Italy and it’s haunted him his whole life. So when Francesca shows up at the Sullivan farm down the road, he’s compelled to figure out if this girl really is his long lost friend.
But Francesca knows she’s not Fiona Sullivan. She knows exactly who she is. At least she thinks she knows – until Brody Mason relentlessly pursues her and she begins to have feelings for him. Maybe being Fiona isn’t so bad?
Reality becomes blurred, secrets are revealed, and life will never be the same when the final questions are answered: Is she Francesca or Fiona? And where does she really belong?

First a bit about J.A. Huss...
J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).
She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.

Now J.A Huss's Guest Post!
Since I live in Colorado we get a lot of story days, so
here’s my top ten things to do on a story Colorado day!
1. Stay
in bed!
2. Drink
tea
3. Read
4. Make
chicken and rice soup in the crock-pot
5. Look
out the window – I can see from Pikes Peak to Longs Peak out my back
window. That’s about a hundred and
twenty miles of mountains.
6. Go
for a long drive
7. Write
8. Bake
cookies
9. Say
a private thank you that my car is getting washed by the rain (I live on a dirt
road, it’s a constant struggle!)
10. Watch
movies
My Review:
I would definitely recommend diving into Losing Francesca.
Swimming through Losing
Francesca by J.A. Huss I encountered a beautiful story that explored losing
and gaining, arguments and love.
Losing Francesca
is a satisfying story of one girl’s search for her identity. Her identity is
broad. Is she beloved daughter of a mysterious malignant man or a foster
daughter of a horse loving man?
When I backstroked through this story, I used my master
swimming skills and discovered the basic truth. The grand reveal explored a
heartbreaking story. I enjoyed exploring the mystery of Fiona and Francesca.
The whole story is one reigning in waters that tide over
ones head that results in worry and waters that leave a smooth comfort. It encounters
tough decisions from both the present and the past. These decisions leave some
people in the deep end. It reflects the truth that what a person wants will not
leave everyone in happiness. But Francesca and Brody made the best choice they
could see. So did Francesca’s father.
I grew to like each character. Especially Sean. Fiona’s
foster brother who cares about Francesca. He is a great older brother who is
humorous at times and tenacious. At first, I wish Fiona were tougher. If she were
braver she would have fixed her conflict a lot quicker. But I’m glad, instead,
Huss choose to allow Fiona grow on her own to be brave enough to choose to live
her life on her own devices. My favorite attribute of Francesca is her adorable
ideas like the feet pictures.
Thanks for reading!
Wow you have such a relaxing life, Julie! I want to be your neighbor!! >.<
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Rachel! I love the water analogy! :)
Wow, this sounds like something I would like. The synopsis definitely intrigued me and I'd really like to know how things will turn out. Thanks for sharing this. Lovely review, Rachel! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Giselle! Well, it's in the middle of nowhere, there's not much to do! :) Thanks for the review Rachel! I'm glad you enjoyed the story!
ReplyDeleteI would up and move to Colorado in a second! I've always wanted to visit and one of these days I'm going to make it there. I'm a winter girl, so give me a nice snowy, long winter and I'm a happy girl. I want to watch movies and read and drink tea:) Glad you enjoyed this one overall despite Fiona not being as tough as you wanted Rachel!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really similar to another popular read. I won't mention the name because it would spoil the story. Good to see you enjoyed this, Rachel. I'll have to check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely review, Rachel! I'm glad you enjoyed this. I often find myself wishing certain characters were made a little tougher, but I guess, like in the case of Fiona, it's not always the logical thing to do. This book is new to me so thanks for putting it on my radar!
ReplyDeleteI wish that was my top ten day all the time! Sometimes I'm lucky to even fit some reading in! Thanks for sharing a great post with us!
ReplyDeleteStay in bed, read, bake cookies and watch movies are my favorite things to do too!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the book. :)
